Trevor C. Williams (was born in
Montreal ,Quebec ,Canada , in 1965).Trevor Williams is a former member of the
Canadian national men's basketball team and currently the head coach of theDawson College Lady Blues AAA basketball team in Montreal, which won a provincial championship in 2002. He attendedSouthern University inLouisiana where he was a team mate of formerNBA player and current head coach of theDallas Mavericks ,Avery Johnson . He also attended St. Peter's College in New Jersey on a basketball scholarship, and in his fifth and final year of eligibility, he returned to Montreal to play basketball forConcordia University Stingers, (1989-1990 season). However, during the middle of the basketball season, he got into a dispute with head coach John Dore, and left the Stingers for good.He is a former basketball player, playing
point guard , from the city of Montreal, where he played atWestmount High School , and later at Dawson College for the Blues, AAA basketball team, with teammatesWayne Yearwood andDwight Walton . His quickness, speed, and jumping ability were outstanding, and were demonstrated when he played for team Canada against the original USA Dream Team (Dream Team I) of basketball in the 1992 Tournament of the Americas, which took place inPortland, Oregon ,United States .He played against the likes of
Michael Jordan ,Magic Johnson ,Scottie Pippen ,Larry Bird ,Patrick Ewing ,John Stockton , and the rest of the 1992 USA Dream Team.In 1993 he founded the Trevor Williams basketball camp, and in 2002 he founded the Trevor Williams Kids Foundation to help troubled inner city youth of the city of Montreal.
