History

iWin, Inc. originally began in August 2001 as Next Game, Inc. with the objective of building a skill-based gaming community. The founders included CJ Wolf, David Fox (writer and game developer), and Warren Schwader.

In June 2003, the company acquired iWin from Flipside, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of one-time media giant Vivendi Universal and changed its name. In an effort to extend their multiplayer offering and expand the community, iWin purchased Playsite.com from InfoSpace in August 2003.

iWin has been an online publisher of games of chance and internet lotteries since the late 1990s. iWin.com then offered skill-based games such as puzzles, word games, and card games. iWin no longer pubilshes or supports online skill-based games.

iWin's primary focus is downloadable casual games and multiplayer "Online Party" style games and game communities.

In April 2007, iWin opened 'iWin Division 90', a new studio in Seattle to take advantage of the significant casual game development talent in the Pacific Northwest. At the core of the new studio are several veterans from the casual games, console games, and children's games industries leading a diverse team of employees, contractors and interns to create new opportunities in the casual games market.

In May 2008, iWin opened an office Kiev, Ukraine to pull in Eastern European game development talent.
