Sosene Raymond Anesi (born
June 3 ,1981 in Apia,Samoa ) is aNew Zealand rugby union footballer and he plays fullback and wing. He made hisNational Provincial Championship debut for Waikato in 2003. He plays in the Chiefs in theSuper 14 . He made hisAll Blacks debut in 2005 against Fiji at Albany. He has currently played just 1 test. He was a member of the New Zealand sevens team in 2004 and again in the team that won gold at the2006 Commonwealth Games 2007 neck injury
Anesi fractured his neck in the second round Super 14 match against the
Wellington Hurricanes atWaikato Stadium on9 February 2007 . A strong tackle from Hurricanes wingerMa'a Nonu resulted in the injury which rules Anesi out for season 2007. He has a fracture of the C6 vertebra in his neck and a subsequent shift of the C6 and M25 vertebrae. Immediate surgery was not required, but he needed to go through a rehabilitation period.Fact|date=April 2007 Anesi returned in the second season of the Air New Zealand Cup.References
