Larchmont Yacht Club, located in
Larchmont, New York , is one of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the United States. Founded in 1880, The Club was originally housed in a small church overlooking Horseshoe Harbor in Larchmont's Manor Park. Founders Frank L. Anthony, Fred W. Flint, William C. France, Loring Lothrop and Charles E. Jenkins quickly amassed a large membership and the Club changed locations in 1881, 1884 and finally settled in its current location in 1887 overlooking Larchmont Harbor. Starting in 1888, the club has hosted theLarchmont Race Week every year in July, featuring nine days of racing for over a thousand sailors competing in offshore classes, one designs and junior sailboats. In addition to Race Week, Larchmont also hosts numerousdinghy andkeelboat regattas each year. Larchmont is home to several competitive one design racing fleets includingEtchells , Shields,S-Boats ,International One Designs ,Ideal-18s andVanguard 15 s as well as cruising boats. Larchmont also has an extensivejunior sailing program and is host to theMamaroneck High School high school sailing program as well as a college sailing regatta.It also hosts the Rye Country Day School sailing team
