George Spencer School is a specialist Technology College and foundation school in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.

History

The school was established in 1960 and was significantly expanded to include a second site in the late seventies. The second site is found over a footbridge from the original, which spans the A52/Brian Clough Way. A ballot of parents in 1993 resulted in the school becoming grant-maintained. It has since become a foundation school and has been awarded Beacon School status. In 1994 it became one of the first schools to acquire the Technology College specialisation.
