The bigspot barb ("Puntius dunckeri") is a tropical freshwater fish belonging to the Cyprininae sub-family of the (Cyprinidae) family. It originates in inland waters in Asia, and is found in Malaysia and Singapore. Lives in a temperature range of 72 - 85 °F (22 - 29 °C). It was originally named "Barbus dunckeri" by Ernst Ahl in 1929. Named in honor of George Duncker, a German ichthyologist.

The bigspot barb is of commercial importance in the aquarium trade industry.
