Cees Jan Diepeveen

Cees Jan Diepeveen (born July 24, 1956 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland) is a former field hockey player from The Netherlands, who participated in three Summer Olympics: in Los Angeles (1984), in Seoul (1988) and finally in Barcelona (1992). In 1988 he won the bronze medal in South Korea, after defeating Australia (2-1) in the Bronze Medal Game.

The defender and midfielder earned a total number of 286 caps, scoring sixteen goals, in the years 1978-1992. Diepeveen was surpassed as a record holder in 1998 by Jacques Brinkman. He retired from international competition after finishing fourth at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Later on he was the head coach for a short period of time of the women's team from HC Bloemendaal, the club he himself used to play.
