Tony Grounds

Tony Grounds is a writer born in 1957 in East London. His work includes "Gone to the Dogs", with Jim Broadbent and Alison Steadman. "Gone to Seed", with Peter Cook. Both ITV.

Grounds wrote "Ghostbusters of East Finchley" for BBC2 before "Our Boy" for BBC1 starring Ray Winstone for which he won the Royal Television Society Best Actor Award. Tony and Ray worked together again on "Births Marriages and Deaths", winning the Broadcast Award 2000.

He then wrote and directed "The Martins" with Lee Evans and Kathy Burke, before writing "Bodily Harm" for Channel 4, starring Timothy Spall and George Cole.

Grounds won the 2005 Prix Europa Award for "When I'm 64", for BBC2.

Most recently, he wrote and produced "All in the Game", once again starring Ray Winstone.
