Half Note Club

Half Note Club

The Half Note was a jazz club located at the corner of Hudson & Spring Streets in Manhattan. The club was known for its showcasing of up-and-coming jazz musicians in the 1950's and 60's, and its defraying costs with live radio broadcasts on Friday nights, hosted by Alan Grant. A number of albums were recorded at the club, including the acclaimed by John Coltrane and Smokin' at the Half Note by Wes Montgomery. Currently the club is closed. The space today is occupied by a deli.
