Louth-Meath is a former parliamentary
constituency inIreland , which was represented inDáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish parliament orOireachtas . Covering part the two counties of Louth and Meath, it existed from 1921 to 1923. It elected five Teachtaí Dála (TDs) to the Dáil, using theSingle Transferable Vote method ofproportional representation (PR-STV).History
The constituency was created in 1921, under the
Government of Ireland Act 1920 , for the 1921 general election to theHouse of Commons of Southern Ireland , whose members formed the2nd Dáil . It was used again for the 1922 general election to the3rd Dáil Louth-Meath was abolished under the
Electoral Act 1923 , and replaced by the two new constituencies of Louth and MeathBoundaries
