Longstowe is a small rural village of some 200 residents, about convert|12|mi|0 west of Cambridge. It is situated on and to the west of the A1198, running for about a mile along the B1046. The village supports a successful cricket club with both A and B teams competing in the Cambridgeshire leagues.

It once boasted three pubs although only the Red House now remains (although of particular note was the Golden Miller pub, renamed from The Three Horseshoes in honour of the racehorse Golden Miller who was trained by Basil Briscoe at Longstowe Hall).

There is an active church community centred around the church of St. Mary the Virgin. Longstowe Hall is a mansion which owns a large portion of the land in and around the village and supports much of the village activity.
