The ECCW Hardcore Championship was first awarded in November 1999. Moondog Manson is the most prolifent champion and is currently in his ninth reign.
Title history
The initial crowning of the ECCW Hardcore Championship was the results of a finals match in New Westminster, British Columbia on November 26 1999 between Ladies Choice and Moondog Manson. Both competitors were selected for this match as a result of a two day hardcore tournament. The first day took place in Campbell River, British Columbia on November 19 1999 which saw Ladies Choice defeat "The Gigolo" Steve Rizzono in round 3 of the first days tournament. The second day took place in Port Hardy, British Columbia on November 20 1999 where Moondog Manson defeated Juggernaut in a 45 minute plus hardcore match in round 3 of the second days tournament.
With both victories Ladies Choice and Moondog Manson were granted slots in the first ever ECCW Hardcore Championship match.
