Keheley Elementary School

Keheley Elementary School is a K-5 school located in northern Cobb County, Georgia. Keheley Elementary opened its doors to some 500 students in 1986 on land between Keheley Road and Shallowford Road that was purchased from the Keheley family. Elizabeth Jackson, a veteran Cobb County educator, is the current principal.

Keheley Elementary School, "the Cougars", is dedicated to providing
 a motivating, integrated academic program for
 all students. We will model and provide a safe,
nurturing environment that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, cooperative spirit, creativity, and an enthusiasm for learning. It is a one of eight Cobb County schools designated as a Green School by Keep Cobb Beautiful, and made Annual Yearly Progress during the 2007-2008 academic year.

KEHELEY CITIZENSHIP STATEMENT: "We, the Keheley Cougars, will respect others and ourselves.
 We will accept personal responsibility for our actions and our 
attitudes. We will show civility to all and, through our
 commitment and cooperation, will help to ensure the
 safety of our school and community."

THE PURR-FECT COUGAR CAFE: A nutritious and attractive lunch is served daily at Keheley. (adult lunch - $2.50, child lunch - $1.60, milk - $.50), and a nutritious breakfast is served daily in the Keheley cafeteria from 7:15 – 7:40. The food selections include fruit and fruit juice, enriched breads, breakfast meats and milk. Student breakfast prices are $1.00.

The Kelehey school day is from 7:50 am to 2:20 pm.

The school has had four principals since 1986:

1986-1994: Bonnie P. Bell, Principal; Assistant Principal: None until 1993, then Peggy Hollis 1994-1997: Peggy D. Hollis, Principal; Assistant Principal: Delores Montford 1997-2007: Carolyn Mills, Principal; Assistant Principal: Laverne Evans 2007-present: Elizabeth J. Jackson, Principal; Assistant Principal: Laverne Evans (retired 2008), Patrick O'Connell 2008 - present

It is part of the Cobb County Schools System, which is the second largest public school district in Georgia and the twenty-sixth largest in the nation. Only Gwinnett County has a larger system within the state.
