Ray Bellew (born in 1939, died on
October 10 ,2006 ) was anactor andperformer .He was born in
Montreal, Quebec ,Canada . In the 1960s he hosted a teen radio show and was in his own TV series of that time, "Skipper and Company" inSt. John's, Newfoundland , which ran on the CBC's Newfoundland affiliate for years. It was on that show that Leslie Lake (now Leslie Lake Searle) was a featured singer.Throughout the 1960s, Bellew was in the Canadian series "Last of the Mohicans" withLon Chaney Jr , as well as "Razzle Dazzle ", featuring puppet Howard the Turtle. He was also in "The Forest Rangers ", Gordon Pinsent's "Quentin Durgens, M.P. ", "Cannonball", "CBC TV Theatre", "On Camera", "Folio" and "Star Time Theatre", to name a few.He was in CBC Toronto's production of "Macbeth " withSean Connery , before the actor was to star in his first James Bond film.In the late 1990s, he was the "live" personification of P.J. Billington, of the P.J. Billington's restaurants, making public appearances, voicing radio commercials & TV commercials.
Personal life
Prior to his death, he was married to Rose and had two daughters, Kelly and Lauren, a son, Sean, and two grandchildren. He also has a son, Mark, and a daughter, Kim, from his first marriage to Brenda and has 4 other grandchildren and a great grandchild. Ray also has a son, Chris, and another daughter, Robin, also from his first marriage to Brenda.Fact|date=June 2008In 2002 he was sentenced to 6 months house arrest for assaulting and threatening his wife.Fact|date=June 2008
