Nerekhta (Russian: Не́рехта) is a town in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. Population: 22,817 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 26,002 (2002 Census);[2] 29,295 (1989 Census).[3]

It has been known since the early 13th century. The town does not retain many marks of antiquity, apart from several 17th-century churches. It has been known for its textiles since the 19th century. Railway lines connect it to Yaroslavl, Kostroma, and Ivanovo.

The bandy club Start plays in the 2nd highest division.[4]
