The Playhouse Theatre is a theatre located in the CBD of Perth, Western Australia.
History
Established in 1956, the Playhouse Theatre, has seen considerable change in popular culture and theatre going in Perth.
A much smaller and 50 year later addition in Perth after the His Majestys Theatre it has survived where the Hole in the Wall and other theatres have been either amalgamated or closed down.
Current
The theatre is currently the performance and administrative home to the Perth Theatre Company.
The theatre seats approximately 450 people at one time with a newly renovated bar open to the public before, during and after performances. Conference facilities are also available on site.
Each year, the theatre hosts productions as part of the Perth International Arts Festival as well as many other performances of dance and theatre.
