Under Trojans coachMark Schubert , Bridgewater earned 1995 and 1996All-America honors in the 100 and 200 meter backstroke.At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Bridgewater won the gold medal in men's 200 meter backstroke with a time of 1:58.54, beating fellow American and rival
Tripp Schwenk by a mere .45 seconds.Bridgewater currently serves as Vice-President for Dallas investment management firm PHH Investments.
