The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spanish or Spanish National Research Council is the largest public research organisation in
Spain . Dependent of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the CSIC is multidisciplinary and carries out research in many science fields through its more than 100 centers around Spain.Origins
Its origins are found in the "Junta para la Ampliación de Estudios" (1907-1939) born within the
Institución Libre de Enseñanza and inspired in the Krausist philosophy.Functions
