The line through Frimley is a link between the Waterloo-Reading line at Ascot and the Waterloo-Alton line at Ash Vale. The station building was built in 1878 to serve this line. Frimley is served by trains between Ascot and Guildford via Aldershot; these operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 60 minutes on Sundays. During Monday to Friday peak periods, two trains per day continue beyond Ascot to London Waterloo (to London in the morning, from London in the evening). At other times, passengers are required to change at either Ascot or Ash Vale to reach London.
