Roman Zarubin (Russian: Роман Зарубин), born
4 December 1976 inBelaya Kalitva , Rostov, is a Russian flatwater canoe racer and former world and European champion.He joined the Russian national squad in 1996 and won a total of six world championship medals. His greatest achievement came in 2001 when he won the kayak (K4) 500m gold medal in
Poznań ,Poland .Zarubin was European champion three times, in 1999 (K4 200m and 500m) and 2001 (K4 500m).
He also represented Russia at the at the 2000 Olympics, where he reached the K4 final, finishing seventh.
Zarubin is a member of the
