Konrad Motorsport is an
auto racing team initially fromAustria but now residing inGermany . Founded by Austrian racerFranz Konrad in 1989, the team has mostly runPorsche s, although they have also runFerrari s,Lamborghini s, andSaleen s over their existence.Initially competing in the
Interserie championship, the team later moved to theWorld Sportscar Championship runningPorsche 962 s. In 1991, Franz Konrad designed his ownGroup C chassis for the World Sportscar Championship withLamborghini backing, known as theKonrad KM-011 , although the car was not successful.The team moved to smaller championships in 1993, where they successfully won the
24 Hours of Nürburgring and Mil Milhas Brasileiras, the later of which they won again in 1995. The team eventually moved to theBPR Global GT Series competing withPorsche 911 GT2 s. By 1997, the team would be involved in multiple racing series, including theFIA GT Championship ,IMSA GT Championship , and thePorsche Carrera Cup . After briefly running Lola prototypes, the team eventually switched to runningSaleen S7 -Rs in theAmerican Le Mans Series andFIA GT Championship .The team would eventually return to running
Porsche 911 GT3 -RSRs in 2006, where they won the 24 Hours of Bahrain. Konrad Motorsport continues to use their Porsches in competition today.External links
