James Podsiadly

James Podsiadly

James Podsiadly (born 10 September 1981) is an Australian rules footballer. Formerly a player in the Australian Football League, he currently plays in the Victorian Football League for the Werribee Tigers.

Originally from Yarraville and Western U18, Podsiadly was recruited to the Collingwood Football Club and was also on the Essendon list.

Following his delisting he has become a cult figure at the Werribee Tigers, where he led the VFL goalkicking in 2005. During the 2006 AFL pre-season he trained with the Tigers' AFL affiliate, the Western Bulldogs. His kicking and marking ability as a key forward with the club has fuelled suggestions he may return to the AFL. He also has done pre-seasons with Sydney and Geelong.

Podsiadly was crowned the 2008 J.J. Liston Trophy winner on 16 votes, one clear of Williamstown's Brett Johnson and Sandringham's Peter Summers.
