Claude Bébéar (born July 29, 1935, in Issac, France) is a French businessman. He is the founder and former CEO of AXA.[1][2]

Biography
He graduated from the École Polytechnique. In 1996, he acquired Union des Assurances de Paris.
He helped oust Jean-Marie Messier from Vivendi. He was involved in the ouster of the chairman of Rhodia.[3] He is on the board of Vivendi.[4] In 2007, he was worth 106 million euros.[5] He is Roman Catholic, married with five children, two of whom were adopted from South Korea. He has been a member of Le Siècle.[6]
