Šerić was born to a Croatian family in
Sydney ,Australia and received a football scholarship to the Australian-taxpayer-funded Australian Institute of Sport. He began his professional football career inSplit ,Croatia where he played forHajduk Split . He then moved toItaly to play inSerie A , initially with Verona and then Brescia, Parma and Lazio, before signing for Panathinaikos in 2005.In June 2008, he moved to the Turkish side,

He made his debut for the Croatian national team in a friendly match against Slovakia on 29 May 1998 in
Pula and collected up to this time a total of 16 international caps for the team. In 1998, he was infamously picked for both Australia and Croatia.
