Le Grand Rex is an old and famous theatre for movies and concerts in
Paris . It is well known for its room with 2,800 seats (the largest in Europe), its starry vault, its water spectacle and itsArt Deco style architecture. It also features the largest screen in Europe, called "grand large". It is used to play aWalt Disney animation in December, and was used as a "Soldatenkino" during the German occupation. The Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival, a six-day event that attracts more than 48,000 attendees and is the most important adventure and discovery film festival in the world, is held in the Le Grand Rex each April.The theatre was created by Jacques Haïk, a rich film producer, and it opened its doors on the night of December 8, 1932. It has been protected since 1981.
