In 2003 the "Interlake High School Construction Project" was initiated [ [http://www.bsd405.org/default.aspx?tabID=735 Interlake Construction : Construction Projects : Facilities : Departments : Bellevue School District ] ] . A large section of the original school was demolished, and a two-story facility was put in as a replacement. The school now includes a performing arts center which seats 377 and a central exterior plaza. The technology building and
horticulture building were remodeled.The project was nearly completed by August 2005 at a cost of US$45 millionFact|date=January 2008.
Demographics
In the 2007-2008 school year, the total student enrollment was 1027. PRISM at Interlake
The PRISM program continuation from Stevenson Elementary School and
Odle Middle School to Interlake began in 2006, allowing students to take the program through high school. Due to PRISM program continuation and the IB program, which will be taken one year earlier by students in the PRISM program, at Interlake, the faculty expects to see a student population increase. *Saints Robotics [http://interlakesaintsrobotics.org/drupal-5.5/] is aFIRST Robotics team with over twenty committed students. They meet after school on Wednesdays and work on building a robot for the annual FIRST competition. They also maintain a website, participate in the 3D animation competition and are involved in their community.
*Amnesty International is a club that works to prevent and end abuses of human rights. They do various projects such as selling T-shirts to promote awareness of the crisis inDarfur .
*Interlake Literary Journal [http://schools.bsd405.org/ihs/activities/LITERARY_JOURNAL/index.html] is a publication of the literary and art works of Interlake students.
*Sign Language Club is an after school class in which students can learn American Sign Langauge in addition to the benefits of being able to communicate with the deaf community.
*Interlake Honor Societyis a club that works to promote service to the community, both in and outside of school. They do various projects such as valentine grams, food drives, and work with the local YMCA organization. A bi-weekly newsletter is available with updates.
*Chem Club short for Chemistry Club, it is an after school club that meets every week to do unique experiments/labs and at the same time discuss questions about chemistry. With only a small workload, they enjoy experiements that are not normally conducted in class. Little experience is needed prior to joining and IB creativity hours are also awarded.Notable alumni
