Philip Cosgrave

Philip Cosgrave (died 22 October 1923) was an Irish Cumann na nGaedhael party politician who was a TD in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Dála.

Cosgrave's death only eight weeks after winning his seat in the 4th Dáil triggered a by-election for his seat in the Dublin South constituency. It was held on 12 March 1924 and won by the Cumann na nGaedhael candidate, James O'Meara. His brother, W. T. Cosgrave, was President of the Executive Council (Prime Minister) of the Irish Free State and his nephew, Liam Cosgrave was Taoiseach from 1973 to 1977.
