Laurence Cottle is an electric bassist probably best known for his session work for
Black Sabbath in1989 on the "Headless Cross " album. He featured in the promo video for the title track, released as a single but, as he was never an official member of the band, he was not on any of the other promotional material.He has also worked with such diverse artists as Sting,
Cher ,Seal ,Eric Clapton ,Alan Parsons andMike Oldfield .His own solo recordings have been mostly in the jazz/fusion vein, with such notable releases as "Five Seasons", "Laurence Cottle Quintet live" and others. He was a member of the Los Angeles based fusion quartet, The Fents, and appears on their second LP, "The Other Side", released on Passport Jazz label in 1987. He produced 3 Albums for legendary guitarist
Jim Mullen in the 90's. Recorded with British JazzersMornington Lockett ,Tim Garland ,Django Bates ,Gerard Precenser ,John Graham . Has written music for film and TV including Friends and The Oprah Winfrey show. Was a member ofBill Bruford 's Earthworks from 2003-2006.Now Laurence leads his own Big Band playing a variety of standards and his own material.
