Edsel B. Ford II (b.
December 27 1948 ,Detroit, Michigan ) is the great-grandson ofHenry Ford and the son ofHenry Ford II .He received his Business Administration Bachelor's Degree at
Babson College , and completed the Program for Management Development at theHarvard Business School in 1981.Between 1978 and 1980 Edsel ran
Ford Australia . During his short tenure theFord Falcon XD was released, and Ford Australia changed their source for smaller cars from Europe toJapan .Edsel is currently a member of the Board of Directors. He was named president and chief operating officer of Ford Motor Credit in 1991, and elected a Ford Vice President in 1993. Edsel is very active in charitable and philanthropic organizations in southeastern Michigan.
Mr. Ford is married to the former Cynthia Layne Neskow and they have four sons. The eldest son (
Henry Ford III ) works forFord Motor Company . Second eldest son Calvin works for a sports marketing firm in New York City. The third eldest son, Stewart S. Ford, is currently attendingMiami University inOxford, Ohio . The youngest son, Albert, attendsDeerfield Academy inDeerfield, Massachusetts . The family lives inGrosse Pointe Farms, Michigan .Edsel attended
Eaglebrook School inDeerfield, Massachusetts and graduated in 1968, fromThe Gunnery , in Washington, CT, USA before entering Babson.
