Yakir Yerushalayim

Yakir Yerushalayim ( _he. יַקִּיר יְרוּשָׁלַיִם "yaqqīr yərūšāláyim"; "Worthy [Citizen] of Jerusalem" or "Treasured Jerusalemite") is an award given by the municipal government of Jerusalem, Israel each year to one or more city residents for "contribution to the cultural and educational life of Jerusalem and the Diaspora." Its winners are frequently scholars who promote education and knowledge of Jerusalem's history.

* Marcel-Jacques Dubois, Roman Catholic theologian and professor of religion at Hebrew University. (1989)

* Louis Isaac Rabinowitz, deputy mayor of Jerusalem, rabbi and philologist (1980)
* Martin Kieselstein, Israeli doctor, for his work with the city's elderly.
* Pinchas Litvinovsky, artist.
* Ludwig Blum, painter. (1968)
* Joshua Prawer (1989)
* Avraham Biran (1996), world famous archaeologist and excavator of Tel Dan.
* Jacob Sheskin (1997) Professor and Doctor in Hadassah Hebrew University Hospital,Head of the Hansen Hospital in Jerusalem and one of 54 people that received the Gold Medal "World Academy of Art and Science" ranked as Benefactor of Humanity.
