- Yakir Yerushalayim
Yakir Yerushalayim ( _he. יַקִּיר יְרוּשָׁלַיִם "yaqqīr yərūšāláyim"; "Worthy [Citizen] of Jerusalem" or "Treasured Jerusalemite") is an award given by the municipal government of
Jerusalem, Israel each year to one or more city residents for "contribution to the cultural and educational life of Jerusalem and theDiaspora ." Its winners are frequently scholars who promote education and knowledge of Jerusalem's history.Recipients
