Samson Smythe

Samson Smythe is a character in the That Wilkin Boy spin-off series from Archie Comics. He lives next door to the Wilkin family with his wife, Sheila Smythe, and his daughter, Samantha Smythe. He is a militant, muscular, and often overbearing person.

Because he doesn't like the idea of Samantha dating Woodrow "Bingo" Wilkin, III, he is often trying to bust up that relationship. This brings a lot of wrath down upon him, since he enjoys picking fights with the whole neighborhood. His main target is Bingo's father, Woodrow "Willie" Wilkin, Jr., whom he calls "Wee Willie", or "Weak Willie," among other things. To add insult to injury, though, his wife and Willie's wife, Wilma Wilkin, are best friends and are often called upon to referee their husbands when they are bickering.

Nonetheless, Samson, usually not without having had to eat crow, sees that Bingo makes Samantha happy, and he really does want her to have happiness.
