Grampian

Grampian ("Roinn a' Mhonaidh" in Gaelic) was a local government region of Scotland from 1975 to 1996. It is now divided into the unitary council areas of:
*Moray
*Aberdeenshire
*City of Aberdeen

The region had five districts:
*Aberdeen
*Banff and Buchan
*Gordon
*Kincardine and Deeside
*Moray

The region took its name from the Grampian Mountains.

Grampian continues to have a joint police service, fire service, and electoral, valuation, and Health boards.

If one is the winner of certain events, defeating all competitors in this region, that person is known as the "Grampian Champion."
