In addition to the eight Parton compositions, there were two covers;
Emmylou Harris ' "Boulder to Birmingham " andMerle Haggard 's "Life's Like Poetry". The album was released around the time Parton began appearing regularly in thesupermarket tabloids , and "Shattered Image", which advised to "stay out of my closet if your own's full of trash" was said to be a reaction to that. "The Fire That Keeps You Warm" was originally recorded by Parton andPorter Wagoner on the 1974 albumPorter 'n' Dolly .This was the last Parton album on which
Porter Wagoner would get producing credit.The album was nominated for a
Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal.Parton re-recorded "Shattered Image" for her 2002 "
Halos & Horns " album. "Falling out of Love With Me" was covered in2004 by the country-rock bandPinmonkey with Parton providing harmony vocals.The title song reached #3 on the U.S. country charts. "Hey, Lucky Lady" was also released as a single.
In conjunction with Parton's
European Tour 2007 , BMG Germany (a division ofSony/BMG ) released the album for the first time on CD. It was paired with 1977's "New Harvest - First Gathering " on one single CD.Track listing
