Esperanza High School , where he went 9-4 with a 1.50 ERA, 137 strikeouts and just 20 walks in 84 innings as a senior. He was selected by theLos Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round of the 2002 draft.He started his first professional campaign in 2002 with the rookie league
Great Falls Dodgers , helping them capture the Pioneer League Championship. Named byBaseball America as the league's eight-best prospect.In 2003 he was honored as the Dodger organizations Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 12-5 with a 2.21 ERA and 151 strikeouts in 142.1 innings for Single-A Vero Beach and Double-A Jacksonville. He was also named to the

His career was derailed when he missed the entire 2004 season while recovering from spring training shoulder surgery.
Returned to action at the end of 2005, pitching in 12 games in Jacksonville's bullpen and recording 2 saves.
Pitched in relief for Triple-A Las Vegas in 2006. In 2007, the Dodgers attempted to return Miller to his starting role with the 51s but he struggled, accumulating a record of 1-1 with an era of 7.85 in 14 appearances with the 51s, including 7 starts. He was subsequently demoted to Jacksonville, where he improved slightly, finishing 1-2 with a 4.69 ERA in twenty games (seven starts) for the Suns.
In 2008 he is back at Las Vegas, working out of the bullpen for the 51s.
