Akkadevi

Akkadevi (Unicode|ಆಕ್ಕದೀವಿ in Kannada) was a princess of the Chalukya dynasty and governor of an area known as Kishukādu, situated in the present day districts of Bidar, Bagalkot and Bijapur. She is said to have encouraged education by giving grants to Brahmins. She was also a gifted warrior and had battled with and defeated a rebel chief of Gokage.
