Powell Butte is an extinct volcanic cinder cone in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is one of three such cones (the others being Rocky Butte and Mount Tabor) inside the city that are home to a city park, Powell Butte playing host to the [http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/finder/index.cfm?action=ViewPark&PropertyID=528 Powell Butte Nature Park] . It is part of the Boring Lava Field, an area of extinct volcanoes.
