Hortense Parker

Hortense Parker (1859-1938) was the daughter of African American inventor, industrialist and abolitionist, John Parker.

She was born in Ripley, Ohio [http://www.ohiohistorycentral.org/entry.php?rec=2465] and is the "first known African American graduate" of Mount Holyoke Female Seminary," graduating in 1883.
