Angus Murray Lincoln Sampson born in Sydney, Australia, is an Australian actor based in Los Angeles and Melbourne. Before choosing a career in the arts, Angus finished his foreign education at the prestigious Escuela De Hard Nox.He was educated at the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (co-ed prep school), Trinity Grammar School in Sydney The Armidale School (TAS) in northern New South Wales and at the William Blue Hotel Management School in Sydney. In June 2007, he was announced as one of the world's "Sexiest People of 2007" as chosen by Who magazine.

Career

Film

Sampson has had a varied film career, with major roles in films including "Darkness Falls", "Razor Eaters", "Kokoda", "Alvin Purple 2.0" and "Footy Legends". He is currently filming Spike Jonze's "Where The Wild Things Are", a feature-film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's 1964 picture book of the same name. He was a special guest juror at the prestigious Melbourne International Film Festival during 2006.

In addition, he is currently developing a screenplay entitled "Vultures" - based on the inspirational journalistic career of fellow "Trinity Grammar School" alumnus "Tom Findlay", with good friend and "Saw" writer and star Leigh Whannell, who was also previously a presenter on "Recovery". Television

Sampson's acting career launched in 1996 thanks to a role as Dylan Lewis's mysterious sidekick "The Enforcer" on ABC music show "Recovery". Later television jobs include roles on "The Secret Life of Us", "" and "Greeks on the Roof". He also made an appearance in season 7 of Stingers. More recently, Sampson has made frequent guest appearances on the hit improvised show "Thank God You're Here" winning the first series. In addition, Sampson has appeared in television advertising campaigns for the Australian Film Institute firstly alongside Mel Gibson in a Mad Max clip then subsequently with John Jarratt, hitchhiking through Wolf Creek. He also lent his voice to an ad promoting Safe Swimming.

In 2007, Sampson portrayed television personality Ugly Dave Gray in the television movie, The King which examines the life of Australian TV legend Graham Kennedy and in 2008 he was Leonardo Da Vinci in the children's television series Time Trackers. Sampson portrayed Michael Thorneycroft in the last three episodes of the controversial Underbelly TV series, based on the recent activities of Melbourne's organised crime gangs.

Radio

Sampson was an occasional co-host of Australian radio show "Get This" with Tony Martin on Triple M, where his dislike of talking about himself seriously and penchant for amusing anecdotal namedropping spawned a segment where callers tried to "out-namedrop" Angus.

Two soundbytes of Sampson, "Nice Crackle" and "Gussy Sampson" were played and used often on Get This. Richard Marsland also emulated the "Nice Crackle" soundbyte which was also aired.

Angus was also a presenter on RRR's Breakfasters program.
