Jakob Edvard Colbjørnsen

Jakob Edvard Colbjørnsen was chief justice for the high court ("Høyesterett") when it was located in the Danish-Norwegian capital, Copenhagen. Born in Norway, he served as the Norwegian chief justice from 1799 until his death. He died in 1802 and his brother, Christian Colbjørnsen was chief justice until 1814. With separation from Denmark, Norway gained its own high court in 1814.

Jakob Colbjørnsen was one of the founding members of The Norwegian Society ("Det Norske Selskab").
