36th Infantry Brigade

36th Infantry Brigade

The 36th Infantry Brigade was a British Army formation.This brigade fought in both the First and Second World Wars. The brigade was a 2nd Line Territorial Army brigade.

History

World War I

The 36th Brigade fought through out the First World War with the 12th Eastern Division on the Western Front.

**11th The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment)

World War II

Re-created on 7th October 1939 . It fought in the Battle of France in May 1940 , as part of the 12th (Eastern) Infantry Division , where it was over run and dispersed. Reformed on 8th June 1940 it eventually became part of the British 78th Infantry Division serving in the North African Campaign ,in Sicily and the Italian Campaign .
