Ernest Willard Gibson (December 29, 1872 - June 20, 1940) was a United States Representative and Senator from Vermont.

Gibson graduated from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont in 1894 where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, and from the University of Michigan School of Law. He was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 1906 and to the Vermont State Senate. He served in the Vermont National Guard from 1899 to 1908, then returned to service from 1915 to 1923.

In 1923, Gibson was elected to the United States House of Representatives as a Republican. In November, 1933, he was appointed to the U.S. Senate, where he served until his death.

Gibson's son, Ernest William Gibson, Jr., was also a U.S. Senator from Vermont.
