Michael Davern

Michael J. Davern (22 July 1900 – 25 July 1973) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who served as Teachta Dála (TD) for Tipperary South from 1948 to 1965.

He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in the 1948 general election, sitting in the 13th Dáil. He was re-elected in the 1951 election to the 14th Dáil, in the 1954 election to the 15th Dáil, in 1957 to the 16th Dáil and in the 1961 election to the 17th Dáil.

Davern did not contest the 1965 general election and was succeeded by his son Don. After Don's death in 1968, another son Noel was elected for Tipperary South at the 1969 general election.
