1991 when "Intercom", "Ebes" and "Unerg"merged to form the present company. For a long time the French company Suez held a slight majority stake in Electrabel, but in2005 that stake increased to 96.7%. The rest of the stock remained tradable atEuronext , but Electrabel was removed from theBEL20 as a result. Suez finally completed a squeeze-out of the remaining shareholders on 10 July 2007, when the company was delisted from the stock exchange. Following Suez's 2008 merger withGaz de France , Electrabel is now asubsidiary ofGDF Suez . Electrabel has a joint venture with the Italian utility "Acea".Power plants
