Lately, most of the US Field Manuals have all been submitted to the
public domain [ [http://faculty.ed.umuc.edu/~nstanton/FM27-10.htm US Field Manuals in public domain] ] . This has given civilians the possibility of learning from them. Especially for people trainingsurvival skills (e.g.survivalist s, adventurous travellers andtourists ) andpoor people (e.g.subsistence farmers in the third world), the US Field Manuals are providing a valuable resource. The presence of the document in the public domain has also allowedterrorist s to use the manual for training purposes.
