The school mascot is the Brahma, and the school colors are purple, gold, and white. Diamond Bar High School students participate in programs such as Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). During the school year, DBHS received an Academic Performance Index of 870,[2] and 97%[3] of students passed the California High School Exit Exam in 2008-2009. The Brahma Athletic teams currently compete in the Hacienda League of the CIF Southern Section.

History
Diamond Bar High School was founded in 1982. Its first students came from Suzanne Middle School, Chaparral Middle School and Walnut High School. The first principal of the school was Walt Holmes.
Academic programs
Advanced Placement Program
DBHS offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement (AP) courses for its students. In 2005, the College Board also recognized Diamond Bar High School's calculus program as the top performing large size (1000+) school.[4]
International Baccalaureate Program
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is administered by the IB Organization. The program offers advanced level courses to students and offers students the opportunity to take IB Test in approved classes for college credit. Dena Lordi is the current IB coordinator. The very first year it started its program was in the fall of 2002.[5]
Pathways Academy
Pathways is an alternate school program offered to students. The program offers different courses and class schedules. The curriculum includes a broad range of college preparatory courses and work experience classes.[6]
Robotics Team
In 2011, the FIRST robotics team of Diamond Bar High School placed first in the FIRST Robotics Competition Los Angeles Regional as a rookie team.[7]
