Motorvators

The Motorvators are a group of three Autobots in the Transformers universes.

These three toys were repainted by Hasbro for Europe in 1991 from the Japanese Brainmaster toys released by Takara in 1989. Unlike the Brainmasters, these three cannot combine to become a larger robot as they were not released with the required accessories. The miniature figures the toys came with that became their heads were stated to be "Energon figures" on the packaging but nothing more is known about their exact background. The Motorvators did not appear in any fiction.

Flame

Flame is a repaint from Laster.

Function: Troubleshooter

Bio

According to the toy packaging, Flame is "the thinker in the Motorvator team". He is a "Housing Energon figure equipped with problem solving analytical compu-unit". He also has "flameproof laser-evader proton armor" as both vehicle and robot.

Gripper

Gripper is a repaint from Blacker.

Function: Assault Force Leader

Bio

According to the toy packing, Gripper is characterized by "courage and pure strength". He prefers rough terrain because of "his mega-grip tires and super reinforced vehicular armor". He has "dual function Energon figure supplying wide-sweep radar and sonic scanner" and "transforms to mighty Motorvator robot wielding crack calibre laser-blazer broadsword".

Lightspeed

Lightspeed is a repaint from Braver. It is not stated whether or not this Lightspeed is an upgrade of the Technobot of the same name. But this Lightspeed's bio does not contradict the Technobot's.

Function: Scout/Messenger

Bio

According to the toy packaging, Lightspeed moves faster than light. He is an "Energon figure fitted with micro lens photo-record equipment supplies all the data Flame and Gripper need to formulate the battle plan". The speed translates to fighting ability when in robot form. According to the packing, "His lethal laser-jousting technique renders the laserblade invisible in motion."
