Joseph W. Carcione (
October 31 1914 –August 2 1988 ) was aconsumer advocate known as "The Green Grocer."Carcione owned and operated a produce import/export business in
South San Francisco at the Golden Gate Produce Terminal II. He hosted shorttelevision bits offering advice in the world ofproduce , and wrote a newspaper column and two books on the same subject.Carcione married Madeleine Ahern in 1937. They had three children. He died of intestinal cancer at Peninsula Hospital in
Far Rockaway ,New York , in 1988.His grandson, Joe Carcione III, owned and operated Home Field Advantage, a
baseball card store inMenlo Park, California .External links
