Rabbi Andrew Shaw is the Community Rabbi, formerly the Youth Rabbi in
Stanmore and Canons Park Synagogue , the largestJewish community in the UK andEurope . He began and now is the chairman of a nation-wide program to raise Jewish awareness in teenagers calledTribe . Tribe offers 'points' for attending activities hosted by the synagogue and these points are then redeemable for prizes at a set date. Tribe also runs various events for theUnited Synagogue . He has been said to have inspired thousand of people with his " [http://www.60for60.com/about/ 60 for 60] " program, an educational project in the name of those who died in theHolocaust .He graduated from
Leeds University with a Fuel and Energy Engineering degree, but decided to become a Rabbi. He became the Youth Leader of Stanmore and Canons Park Synagogue in 2000. After a year atUJS , he spent time in Jerusalem and New York training for the Rabbinate. He is an avid supporter of Arsenal. He and his wife Gila now have a son Yonni, born in January, 2005.60 Days for 60 Years
This worldwide program was launched in 2005 and is a book (ISBN 0-9549397-0-0) with over 60 articles and each day one is meant to read an article about the holocaust. To quote their website (see link below)

This powerful book will provide inspirational thoughts on Torah ideas and concepts vital to Jewish life today. Every person will receive a card on which will be the name of a holocaust victim whom they will be learning in memory of as well as the town they came from."
As said in the quote, each of the hundreds of thousands of people who requested a book also received one of millions of cards with the name, country and city born in and date died of a person with a similar age to themselves.
