The palatovaginal canal (also pharyngeal canal) is a canal between the sphenoid bone and the palatine bone that connects the nasal cavity with the pterygopalatine fossa.

It is the canal for the pharyngeal branch, a sensory general somatic afferent fiber, of the maxillary nerve, itself the V2 branch of fifth cranial nerve, the trigeminal nerve or cranial nerve V.

The opening to the palatovaginal canal in the nasal cavity is located near the lateral margin of the ala of the vomer, at the roots of the pterygoid process.
