Robert LaVelle is an actor and teacher. He was born in Memphis and now lives in New York City.

He earned his M.F.A. at The Actors Studio Drama School, where he is a member of the graduate faculty. He has also taught at The New School for Drama and St. Frances College in Brooklyn, NY.

LaVelle has appeared in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including THE SHAWL directed by Sidney Lumet, CHAMBERS, POWER FAILURE and SLY FOX directed by Arthur Penn, DYNAMITE TONITE! directed by Rip Torn, and NIGHT OVER TAOS, JOHNNY JOHNSON and SALOME with Al Pacino, Marisa Tomei and Dianne Wiest, all three directed by Estelle Parsons, ELEKTRA with Elizabeth Kemp, directed by Andreas Manolikakis and UNCIVIL WARS with Estelle Parsons, directed by David Gordon.
